Blog No. 10: Randy Newman Scares Me A Little.
Very slow today. Watched the Monk marathon. Watched him lose his memory and become a roofer, watched the chimp attack the bald man, watched the astronaut kill his girlfriend from space, watched a house burn and people murdered over cherry pie, and watched Alice Cooper murder someone over a chair...
And each time the starting credits play that same minute long song by Randy Newman. After having that in my head all day, I've come to realize that Randy Newman's singing voice is weird. Almost creepy. I can't get that weird creepy voice out of my head!
NO. I do not want to know what's in the water that I drink!
But it's weird... That voice is so recognizable. That song is crazy, especially if someone came up to you and said those words with a straight face. Only Randy Newman would pull off saying those words and still not have people act crazy around him. But those lyrics are essentially true. We eat and drink poison everyday. By nature, our bodies are killing us everyday. That's basically how we die. Randy Newman speaks, or sings, the truth. Not only that, but he also sings it in a way as if he knows something... Like some weird secret about that crazy water, as if he can undo it or knows the antidote to the poison. The antidote to death. As if he created the antidote. But in knowing the antidote, he would know the structure of the original substance. As if he created the water. But if he created the antidote, he would also have created the poison. Created the life giving water but taking life. As if he created this system of life. As if...
ZOMG Randy Newman = GOD!
... I need to get out more.
PS: Leaving for Santa Cruz tomorrow! Will post pictures at leizure.
