Blog No. 66: Harry Potter
--->Blog Start 9:00 PM
There's a Harry Potter marathon going on, so I'm going to review the movies as a series.
Movie Review: Harry Potters 1-4
Harry Potter 1: It was very to the book. It kept the true idea of the story into the movie. You can see Harry at his early stages and how he grasps the world as the movies progress. This one he's very much just an innocent boy stuck to the model of hero Vs. villain. Everything he needed to know came to him at the perfect times, like when Hagrid messes up and accidentally says something he wasn't supposed to. After this movie though, he would be introduced to plot twists and angles. Snape supremely makes the classic villain, too bad he's not though.
Harry Potter 2: Meh. Awkward transition stage between books 1 and 2. The movie I think was better in some ways than the book. Gilderoy Lockheart is very much the same prissy wizard I imagined. And Dobby the house elf looked super creepy, I expected him to be smaller. But I just can't get over the fact that "petrification" in the movie meant people affected were as if they were frozen in time, when really true petrification is the act of getting turned into stone.
Harry Potter 3: Very visual. Great music. Stepped up, especially after swapping out Dumbledores. It got really into Harry's psyche, we see how people affect him and the movie made all that really real to compensate for keeping stuff out of the movie. Snape is still a hard bomber, only he loses that preliminary likeness for trying to save Harry in the first movie when he becomes vengeful to Lupin. It also gets very soap opera like when the infamous Sirius Black turns out to be Harry's stepfather, and Ron's rat turned out to be the traitor, not Black... Complicated. But it went into concepts of time and death.
Harry Potter 4: This was my favorite book of the Harry Potter series. I felt very critical about this movie because they left a lot out, like the different struggles during the third task, the house elves, and when Rita Skeeter got turned into a ladybug. The last game went from an awesome magic testing maze with creatures and whatnot to just a maze. It also got very awkward when Harry Potter mourned the death of Edward Cullen---I mean Cedric Diggory. The story line got very much involved and got unpredictable because of its twist with Mad-Eye Moody. But by this movie, the actual threat of evil finally exposes itself when Voldemort is ressurected... It is at this point where things get serious. Hopefully the movies after this one stays true to the book.
Ranking: 4 out of 5 Thumbs Up-Conditional.--->Great to see if you read the books.
I also think that Hermione Granger, on of my all time heroes, truly makes these movies worth seeing. XD
Urban Dictionary Blurb: I'm still trying to get people to blog. Kaylah, Dustin, Jesse... So far its not working as well. I've tried *sexsuading* them, but I'm not quite sure how that will play out... XD

orQUESTra and Rover
Blog No. 65: orQUESTra and Rover
--->Blog Start 8:50
Yeah, not sure how you spell that performance title. Either way, I had serious *dejabrew* when I saw the America's Best Dance Crew Finale... only I wasn't drinking... XD
Long story short: The asians have conquered the competition.
You can see why.
It was funny when we saw the FINALE finale when they won because my mom got all hysterical and laughed super hard. She pretty much crushes on the super fast moving asians. XD
Anyways, there have been developments on my broken iPod, which I've recently named Rover. The main symptom Rover has is inability to play audio in the right ear only, regardless of head phones.
We drove to BestBuy today to see what they could do for Rover. The Geek Squad lady told us that they would have to send it in to see if Rover's fixable. So I left Rover with the Geek Squad lady, stripping him of his protective case and accessible headphones. It seems likely that I would get a new iPod of either the same generation or higher because they discontinued my generation of iPod. Rover might get upgraded. XD
If you know me, you know that I always carry Rover in my pocket everywhere. I had it when I went down the white water safari ride in Six Flags. I had it through my many trips, including Disneyland and Santa Cruz. I carried it while performing in concerts, during beach trips, during the camping trip, and during the wedding. Rover is like my gall bladder, it's survivable if its taken away from me but I won't be able to live without it. I should say that Rover is like a pair of underwear, I can go a day without anyone noticing I don't have any but it would feel awkward once someone notices its gone... So for the time being, I have Staci, my mom's iPod... It has a "breast cancer awareness" case... It doesn't have any of my KT Tunstall, Anberlin, or Dashboard songs in it... D:
...
I feel naked without my Rover...

Watchmen
Blog No. 64: Watchmen
--->Blog Start 3:33 AM
So far I'm brinking on 21 hours without sleep. Let's see if I can stay awake for one blog.
I *I-Peeped* over at John's iPod touch before the movie started, he was watching a podcast that started at the Comic-Con last year. He was actually there for the first podcast. XD
Movie Review: Watchmen
Preliminary warnings: If you go out to see the movie, be warned that there is intense actions scenes, violence with gore, sex, and nudity. Dr. Manhattan didn't always wear that bikini.
The movie based off of a comic book series, now where did we hear that before? Mind you, I did not read the comics before watching the movie. As I saw the movie, it got SO involved into back stories of each character while telling the story of a destructive modern America still on the brink of Cold War. As I hear from people who read the series, it did not even cover all the side story. My basic thought was "THERE WAS MORE?" My rear end is blistered over from sitting too much...
Then there was bashing and breaking. Arms got cut off. Bones shattered. Necks snapped. Many bumps to the head on edges of stone. Cleavers hacked into the head. There was a LOT of fire, too. Then there was a weird sex scene. Well two, but the first one was actually kinda funny. Point: Might've been overdone. Depends on taste.
Upsides: You learn so much about the characters and their personalities. There's a sense of appreciation to these characters when the back stories were finally told. It also used plenty of computer graphics and film edits that tells the story very well. If you wanted a giant blue man and gunshots in your face, you got that and more. The movie has strong symbolic moments that, if you miss it, you won't appreciate the movie as much, like when you finally notice the identity of Rorschach. This movie made me think on a couple of issues of how destructive humanity is and how we compare to the rest of the universe, in a nutshell.
Downsides: The point of the movie is to see how the Watchmen create peace in the destructive world amidst a world war. Two hours later, after some punching, flashbacks, and sex, the story finally develops. Secondly, it got confusing walking in. The beginning montage gave an idea of what happens, but considering the lengthy introduction of each character you would expect to know the direction of the story forwards and backwards. Third, I do not recommend watching this movie after you've just seen Planet Earth. Your faith in humanity will be sucked out of you and you'll look in the newspaper the next day looking for roommate wanted ads on the planet Mars.
Shortened Version
Upside: Great, if you don't miss anything.
Downside: You'll miss something.
My score: Three and a Quarter out of Five Thumbs Up. --->Worth to see at least once.
Finally! Time for bed.

BloodSource: Run by Vampires
Blog No. 63: Source of Blood
--->Blog Start 8:46 PM
Soupa sleepy tonight, so I'll make it brief.
Chemistry had a test, which seemed easy, which basically means I'm over confident of the actual results. Susan Surrandon and I should have organized a *cheat chain* or something before the test. The Weissbart has us sit every other seat in each row and we usually line up back to back in the room. What we could've done was sit behind the space between two people and have the super smart people sit in front. THAT way, we have a window to see the answers, no matter what form of test we got.
(I don't really believe we should've done a cheat chain, but it was in the Urban Dictionary word of the day today and I had no other slot in my day to put it in.)
Bloodsource was running a blood drive in the cafeteria. Everytime there was a blood drive, I would sign up but I would always get denied the act of donation. Whether it was a 0.1 degree too high or time escaped me, the blood drives hated me. This time around, I actually got through the entire process. Today was the first time I gave blood. I was all proud and whatnot right after word.
It was so weird in there too. There were a bunch of plastic chair/beds where all the computers were in the eServices building. In the corner of the room, there were cardboard boxes labeled with orange tape with the word BLOOD on it. They also kept the doors open, making it very cold in the room. The lady who took my blood said, "Congratulations, you just saved 2-3 lives today!" which I wonder where she got that number... Unless she's a vampire doctor! XD
Of course from that point on I had to take it easy.
I walked to Piano with my backpack on my left shoulder, (which I found very uncomfortable), and carried my clarinet, clarinet folder, jacket, and Lipton Green Tea in my left arm to prevent anything ripping the bandage on my right arm. I walked in about twenty minutes late, and Heidi did not mind the least. She told me how she can't really give blood because of her high blood pressure and she told me that, when she was pregnant, the doctors were confused on whether she was pregnant or not because of it. She also said "Go ahead and baby yourself today. You did a noble thing." So I guess it was worth being late today, even though I skipped Piano last time... And I aced the d-harmonic minor scales too! XD
Then I walked back to the cafeteria and met up with Susan Surrandon. She wanted to hang out with the guys, who were at the pool watching Dustin in his swimming class. I assume the guys wanted to see Dustin nude... Anyways, I told her that I would go if she carried some of my stuff, so she lifted my blob of a backpack and wore it all the way to the pool, back toward the parking lot, and taking the long way to the band room. My backpack would weigh more than her trombone, Bacon, my clarinet, her backpack, and the Blonde put together.
Concert Band started and ended early because of the Orchestra Concert off campus.
End.
So much for brief. XD

Second or Third Base
Blog No. 62: Second or Third Base
--->Blog Start 9:32 PM
I never get the whole 1st, 2nd, 3rd Base thing. I looked it up and all Google just said was "French, Feel, Finger, [Full Force]" (edited of course). The reason I bring it up is that I'm not sure what JT did. Well, I know what he did, just not what would you call it. Basically, JT came to the cafeteria today to visit before his girlfriend came by and take him away.
Now I feel I have to say this for emphasis because after this paragraph new readers won't believe me: JT and I are straight, yet we JOKE about being a gay married couple.
With that said, after he gave me a hug, he stuck is big cold hand down the neck of my shirt and basically found how hairy my chest was, and he might've found some doubloons too.
OK, now my question is what is the dividing line between second and third base? You see, I don't exactly remember in the first place whether a nipple was touched with Frosty's hand. With that said, what would be that threshold between feel and finger? He kind of did both. Does there actually have to be a layer of clothing for it to be second base? Does the actual nipple have to be touched for it to be third? Is there some imaginary base between second and third? Is that base the pitcher's mound? Am I in a pickle between second and third? Does that mean I'm out no matter what I do? Can't I just carry my bat across the field with me and hit the pitcher? Who actually understands these baseball metaphors?
If it helps, I can still feel his cold touch on my chest, but I think it the cold feeling migrated across my chest. It might be because of my dripping wet hair being down...
...
Hey, it's a less boring blog isn't it?

Piano, or, Margaret Cho
Blog No. 61: Piano, or, Margaret Cho
--->Blog Start: 7:03 PM
Heh, it rhymed.
Chemistry--->Blah.
Ended up in the cafeteria the rest of the time, either sharing two chairs with Matt and Dustin, or watching Margaret Cho with Taka.
Yeah, Dustin needs to shave his beard. Its getting to the point where it brinks on evil villainry. I shall take it upon myself to pull out the shaving impliments all up on his face. XD
Taka and I watched the first 6 and a half parts of Notorious C.H.O on YouTube, which was basically about an hour of sex talk. Some of the topics included lesbian fisting, Cho's father's gay friend, Al 'Gay'da, drag queen guardian angels, and finding the infamous "G" spot. An hour of chuckles on chicken strip Monday. XD
Now for a Blog War rule.
Blog War Rule:
All participants must give at least 8 film reviews this month, whether it be new movies or classics. A movie with each sequel, prequel, and spinoff counts as ONE movie, so all 6 Star Wars movies count as 1.
Alternative, 1 film review = 2 song/artist reviews. No repeat artists, so me suggesting Godspeed--Anberlin and Inevitable--Anberlin would count as 1 artist review. Song suggestions must be purchasable on iTunes or the blog must include a music video off of YouTube.
Punishment, a karaoke video with a song as voted by the other Blog War participants.
Yeah, if Dustin doesn't shave his facial hair, I'm shaving it before Concert Band. Just saying. XD

Summer Plans(?)
Blog No. 60: Summer Plans(?)
So I'm thinking, over the summer, I might do classes, depending on how good I do in Chemistry.
My Chemistry class isn't so much difficult as much as tiring. If I don't do well enough in the coming test to pick up my grade, then I might have to drop it. What I'm going to do now is trying to death to prevent that from ever happening. Which means I might have to start going to Beacon tutoring during my after choir breaks... Ew...
If I don't do well enough, like lower than a low "C" on the test, then I will seriously consider droppage, which means I would have to sign up for a lower level Chemistry course or an Astronomy course, SOMEthing with a lab, over the summer...
Hate Chemistry...
Well, I think we were originally planning a trip somewhere, my family and I. I think there was some talk of a trip to Santa Cruz to make my mom feel at ease with the transition of seeing her son off for a year. I'm not so sure about that... I think that's a cover for something else on a GRAND scale...
We shall see. XD
