Handy Man of the Hour

Blog No. 156: Home Depot

Today was a planned trip to Home Depot.

On our white board of stuff to buy, there have been stuff that have been on there for awhile and I thought, seeing as I was making a paint run, I'd get some other stuff, too, like the filter, a doorknob, and kitchen lightbulbs.

Home Depot, (sorry THE Home Depot according to the store sign... XD), is like a huge maze. I twirled and twirled around so many aisles. Some aisles ended abruptly, enclosing me in a corner section of the store I wished it had continued so that I wouldn't have to unnecessarily go up and down another aisle to go to the bathroom. Plus, after going in circles, it was a little hard to try and finding the stuff I needed. How was I supposed to know that the air conditioning filters were within the plumbing section?

After going in circles for ten minutes, I met my mom in the painting section, where I got a load of painting supplies. I got some random things, like masks, gloves, sponge brushes, and a telescoping roller for the cieling. I also got some specific fuzzy roller refills, seeing as we already got actual rollers from John's Grand Painting the Baby's Room BLUE Adventure. These rollers were specific to my wall because it had been repainted once before, only they added a very dense texture to it. Let's just say that I'm able to file my nails if I really wanted to on my walls. XP

The color paint I got: Cool Aloe.

Granted, the color might be a little less blue, but it's to the point. I'd gotten this color green because it altruistically looked green. Not so close to yellow to make it limey grimey. Not so close to blue to make it like an ocean, green seaweed thing. Not so close to brown to make it woodsy. Sure it's a little bright, but I figure I made the right decision. I made it just GREEN. XP

Then, after a few side trips, like Raley's shopping, again, I came home. I replaced the garage door doorknob, the air conditioning filter, and the kitchen lightbulbs.

I feel handy. XP
