Blog No. 38: This Wasn't Tile Before
More manual labor. UGH!
Today's agenda revolved around getting the stuff behind the stairs out and trashed/sorted. The under-the-stairs was jam packed full of bins being barricaded by the TV stand and two matching shelves. Some of the items include an old DVD player, VCR, a bin full of empty CD cases, a bin full of pottery, the Xmas tree, and a park bench. Why the park bench? It was an idea long, long ago that it would be decorative in the living room. Why hide it under the stairs? An infant hit their head on the metal...
It was just me and John again working it out, pulling stuff and dusting the heck out of everything. John isn't too talkative, but I have noticed that he's opening up more and more. I know it's weird to say, but he allowed me to reflect on the years I've been at that house. 14 years. 14 years of stories and dust! XD
I remembered back when the living room did not have tile floors before. I was the reason it went from carpet to tile. You see, on one of those days when me and my cousin, Ruben, were kids, we were left alone alot to do various nonsense things. Video games, sliding down the stairs on seat cushions, hand stands, etc. One day, Ruben was sliding down the banister, being all cool and whatnot and I decided that I could do it too. All I remember was sliding down the banister, then suddenly wake up on the couch. I also had some weird out-of-body experience where I felt Ruben frantically moving about, cursing and calling up our moms. We were lucky it was a carpet I fell on and not anything else. So to prevent a fiasco like that from ever happening again, the floors were replaced with tile. END. XD
Yeah. Arms are sore from lack of arm strength.
Side Note: Kaylah texted me yesterday with a picture of some cord in her hand, with text down below it saying "Is this your phone charger?" How could I forget that??? So I have to wait until the wedding for Kaylah to come up from Santa Cruz with my charger... I was sure I had it... The blondie will never let me hear the end of this one now...
