She Took the Midnight Train Going Anywhere

Small Town Girl---Journey

Blog No. 30: Flat As a Pancake

Almost got flattened by my mom's entertainment center...

You see, today I came back to the house just to clean up my room. My mom drove me and everything. She was saying that I might as well clean it if I want to paint my room green. I couldn't argue with that logic! *WOOT*

Well, my aunt was supposed to come too to help clean out stuff before the baby arrives and I was supposed to help her lift the heavy things places, being the strong, strapping young lad that I am. Well there was a communication error somewhere along the way because she never came. Apparently the only reason I was there was to lift the entertainment center from my mom's room to the front yard with a giant sign posted on it that says FREE

I thought this was what movers were for... and marines...

So called my cousin, Jabyne, from around the corner to help, being an ex-marine and all. So Jabyne, John, and I somehow coordinated a 6-foot-tall wooden-and-glass behemoth from the master bedroom upstairs to the front yard downstairs. If you know me, you already know I hate manual labor. And of course I somehow pulled the short straw, metaphorically speaking, and ended up on the bottom, pulling it down the stairs. Audrey almost had a heart attack from almost losing her little brother. But whatever...

Just so you know, I'm broadcasting from the house, not the apartment, because I "might as well stay here because [my aunt] will just end up driving [me] back in the morning to lift more stuff to the front yard." ... So when was I going to be told this?

This family needs to work on their communication...
