5-Cheese Rigatoni

Blog No. 44: 5-Cheese Rigatoni

What I'm having is a warm and lucious rigatoni pasta, covered in a simply divine tomato and basil sauce and an assortment of lip moistening and superb cheeses... It's one of those frozen pastas, from Lean Cuisine! XD

Yeah... thought I do a reference to a commercial.

Well it also means that I can eat and be hungry for whole foods now, though my nose won't stop being stuffed. I believe I'm officially done with strep, because of the waning fever, but I'm not out of the woods because of the hacking up and blowing a trash bin full of mucus and tissues...

What-To-Do-For-Valentines-Day To Do List:

  2. ...
  3. ...

I got nothing... XD

Strep Throat Day 2

Blog No. 43: Strep Throat Day 2

I feel loads better from yesterday. Didn't get much sleep last night, and apparently I was moaning during the sleep I did have which freaked out my mom a little bit. Couldn't eat too much today because I had a couple of close calls of the gagging kind... Ew...

Said I would make Italian today, but that didn't happen really seeing as i had some shivers at 1 o'clock, which triggered a harsh fever.

Stuck to peanut butter and crackers...

What-To-Do-To-Pass-The-Time-While-Getting-Better To Do List:

  1. Italian HW.
  2. Find the lost city of Atlantis.
  3. Do the pacman.
  4. Go birdwatching.
  5. Watch America's Best Dance Crew.
  6. Wonder why Mario Lopez is everywhere all of the sudden...
  7. Apply nasal spray.
  8. Come up with a No. 8 on my To Do list.

Here's to getting better! (Hopefully...)

Strep Throat Day 1

Blog No. 42: Strep Throat Day 1

Suxors.

Woke up at like 2 in the morning with the chills and my body temperature that of the surface of the sun. Took a 45 minute cold shower that seemed to work, but the fever sped up again. Then I got a large headache on top of my head and a scratchy throat.

And I was supposed to get my chemistry test back today! Now I have to make up a stupid lab...

Hate chemistry...

Well I'm glad I felt strong enough to move around at least to the computer. I did not change out of my pajamas during the trip to the urgent care. Then, when my mom went to get the prescriptions, I pretty much tore my pants off and fell back asleep with a cold towel over my eyes.

What-To-Do-To-Ensure-I'm-Better-Enough-For-Tomorrow To Do List:

  1. Don't get any sicker tonight.
  2. Take my pills.
  3. Sleep.

Hopefully I'll get some good rest and be able to make up the lab between 8 and 11 tomorrow. Might miss choir, but no one would want to hear me sing in the condition I'm in! XD

The Reason for Global Warming

Blog 41: The Reason for Global Warming

Today was boring. Pressing fast forward button... Pressing... Pressi---

So I here from BLAH on facebook that she's "snowed in" where she lives. She's saying stuff like, "I won't be at class tomorrow" and "Oh I'll bake those cookies tomorrow" and junk like that.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

I've been promised peanut butter cookies. You see, I got her mini macadamia nut cookies from our mall day two days ago, and in return I get home made cookies. Then she pulls this.

Well I got one message for her: If you are lying, I have an insider. Tom also lives in the mountains and if he's snowed in, then, and ONLY THEN will I believe your story.

If her story is truthful, then I will go to any lengths to get those peanut butter cookies into my clutches. I will bribe Apollo, greek god of the sun, to melt the ice and fan the flames on global warming. Melting the snow will make the cookies come to me quicker. Sure the polar bears will drown, but sacrifices must be made. Plus, if they could, they should adapt to be water creatures anyways. The polar bears will have to make penguin sail boats in order to survive. Solve two problems: survive and hone the skills to defy laws of natural selection. The humans make it easy. If you see a polar bear on a sailboat made of penguins whoosh by, then you will know that I am successful in getting my cookies. XD

What-To-Do-To-Teach-Polar-Bears-To-Survive-My-Global-Warming-Scheme To Do List:

  1. Learn Swahili, or whatever language polar bears speak.
  2. Learn the harp.
  3. Find a helicopter to fly, and potentially crash on, to the peaks of Mt. Olympus.
  4. Play the harp and connect with Apollo, who is a very big fan of the stringed instruments apparently...
  5. Strike a deal with him to heat the surface of California.
  6. Draw up blueprints for a sailboat consisting of only penguins and duct tape.
  7. Find a helicopter to fly, and potentially crash on, to the glaciers of Antarctica. Remember to bring the load of duct tape.
  8. Become their leader. I would have to slowly introduce myself into their society and go through embarassing hazings, (paddling, belly shots, urine drinking, etc.), to be part of their society.
  9. Teach them the real uses for penguins and duct tape.
  10. Capture loads of penguins. Ideally wait for the mating season when the group is all together.
  11. Build the fleet of penguin sail boats.
  12. When the oceans rise, take off on the sail boats back for land.
  13. Conquer Greenland and rename it Polar Bear Country Bitches!
  14. Sail back to California.
  15. Claim my cookies!

WOOT! Totally doable. XD

Close Calls

Blog No. 40: Close Calls

This poor guy in Piano... Piper will know who I'm talking about.

Today in Piano, we had to do our performance pieces. It was partly the real reason why I went to school last Friday, (refer to blog conveniently named: School on a Friday). I don't have a touch sensitive keyboard, none remotely close to the ones we use in class. The touch sensitive keyboards are required for expressing dynamic levels in the music. It sounds that much better with one than without. To remedy this, I practice my piano at school. But I never really make the time for it during my normal breaks. Hence, "School on a Friday."

Anyways, there's this guy, whose name escapes me unfortunately, who absolutely did not want to do the piano performance today in front of the class. He was behind me, but I could really sense that he was nervous by the couple of times I looked at him. He did not perform today. He would've been the last one, but he had to excuse himself from class, apparently he was really close to vomiting...

Ew... *gags*

I have the phobia of vomiting, whether it be from someone else's mouth or my own.

On the one hand, I felt that I should stay far away from him, like when he was coming back into the classroom as we were walking out, I was contemplating on pushing Piper, or Heidi, or anyone in front of me, in between me and him, having at least one body hindering that... weirdness. I know its irrational, but I still feared that "what if?" factor.

On the other, less gross hand, I felt sorry for him. From his bravado, I would not have guessed that he was that uncomfortable in front of people. Yet, something Heidi said reminded me of way back, when prepubescent David was that weird in front of crowds.

Flashbacking to my first clarinet recital in elementary school. Everyone who took the music lessons during lunch had to perform a musical piece to the parents at Parent's Night. The teacher gave me a song to play on the clarinet, completely solo. The only one to have a solo at that. Don't ask me why, I did not know the answer, but apparently I was the only one good enough. I felt very much the same way he did, only add the verge of tears and the fetal position. But I still ended up pulling off the song at the concert. How? She hugged me. This was way back when hugs were taboo and crushes develop into Jacob Black stories, (too long a story to go into now). Somehow that hug just reeled me back into my body and lift those fears away.

So that's what I did. I hugged him. It was completely out of character, I was cringing a little bit, and I know that it won't nearly have the same affect as it did me, (what with him not crushing on me... hopefully), but I hope it helped. It certainly helped me a little. XD

What-To-Do-To-Distract-Me-From-My-Phobia To Do List:

  1. Make "flashbacking" a word.
  2. Pull a Taka and bold (not italicize) all prepositions referring to the dude in Piano.
  3. Watch the Big Bang Theory.
  4. Rant a lot about a random childhood experience that hasn't been thought of in awhile.
  5. Sleep.

I've done 1-4. Time for 5.

My Heart's in My What?

Blog No. 39: My Heart's in My What?

Penis.

According to about 5 out of the 8 sex books I've picked up and a movie poster.

Yep.

So I woke up to my mom saying, "Wake up, you need to lift some bins for me!" But I did chores yesterday. When was I being told that I had chores this morning too?...

Then Piper texts me, inviting me for a mall day. I brought it up with my mom and she agreed, whole heartedly. However, my condition was that I got to the house and lift the TV onto the new TV stand John built...

I was just there yesterday...

So the TV sliced some skin off of my right ring finger. After that, John and Audrey drove me to the mall. Met up with Piper and Tom about twenty minutes later. Went to the Build-a-Bear, Teavana, sampled something in front of the Sweet Factory, Bath and Body Works, Body Shop, Verizon Wireless, back to the Sweet Factory, Build-a-Bear, EB Games, Food Court, Build-a-Bear, and finally ended at Barnes and Noble. I got a red and white chess set that matches the Breaking Dawn cover and got Kaylah's BDay gift already, (even though her BDay isn't until July, XD).

We wanted to see Coraline, but the movie was on too late. We ended up seeing the Pink Panther 2 at Regal near my place. It was pretty funny. Not as much as Yes Man, but still pretty good.

Jamba Juice--->Home.

What-I-Need-To-Study-For-The-Chemistry-Test-Tomorrow To Do List:

  1. Empirical Formulas
  2. The Periodic Table
  3. The Polyatomic Ions from our Second Lab
  4. Some Stoichiometry
  5. Combustion Analysis

Hate Chemistry. Good night.

This Wasn't Tile Before

Blog No. 38: This Wasn't Tile Before

More manual labor. UGH!

Today's agenda revolved around getting the stuff behind the stairs out and trashed/sorted. The under-the-stairs was jam packed full of bins being barricaded by the TV stand and two matching shelves. Some of the items include an old DVD player, VCR, a bin full of empty CD cases, a bin full of pottery, the Xmas tree, and a park bench. Why the park bench? It was an idea long, long ago that it would be decorative in the living room. Why hide it under the stairs? An infant hit their head on the metal...

It was just me and John again working it out, pulling stuff and dusting the heck out of everything. John isn't too talkative, but I have noticed that he's opening up more and more. I know it's weird to say, but he allowed me to reflect on the years I've been at that house. 14 years. 14 years of stories and dust! XD

I remembered back when the living room did not have tile floors before. I was the reason it went from carpet to tile. You see, on one of those days when me and my cousin, Ruben, were kids, we were left alone alot to do various nonsense things. Video games, sliding down the stairs on seat cushions, hand stands, etc. One day, Ruben was sliding down the banister, being all cool and whatnot and I decided that I could do it too. All I remember was sliding down the banister, then suddenly wake up on the couch. I also had some weird out-of-body experience where I felt Ruben frantically moving about, cursing and calling up our moms. We were lucky it was a carpet I fell on and not anything else. So to prevent a fiasco like that from ever happening again, the floors were replaced with tile. END. XD

Yeah. Arms are sore from lack of arm strength.

Side Note: Kaylah texted me yesterday with a picture of some cord in her hand, with text down below it saying "Is this your phone charger?" How could I forget that??? So I have to wait until the wedding for Kaylah to come up from Santa Cruz with my charger... I was sure I had it... The blondie will never let me hear the end of this one now...

What-To-Do-While-Procrastinating-For-Chemistry-Homework-(So What I'm Clearly Doing Right Now) To Do List:

  1. Convince Kaitlyn and the guys to start a blog.
  2. Curse my down-syndrome keyboard.
  3. Download my songs from my iPod to the computer so that it can die.
  4. Finish my "To Do List"

  6. Fake losing my calculator.
  7. Listening to some obscure myspace bands.
  8. Pet Chlamydia and the BATMAN, the superpets on facebook I look after.

School on a Friday

Blog No. 37: School on a Friday

I don't have class on Fridays... So why am I here?

Mom drove me to ARC at noon, a whole hour late of when I wanted to be there... Only to find out that the clarinet sectional/choir is not until 1:00, or at least that was what I had written down... Weird...

So I walked to the cafe and within a couple of steps of walking in, I here a faint, but audible yell, "RABBIMAN!" Of course all the guys happen to have converged to one table. It was actually the first time I've seen Patric since the start of the school year. Odd.

They ended up going to Chipotle, so I thought that, seeing as it was 12:30 by now, I would go to practice some clarinet early. On the way to the practice rooms, the two flautists, Liz the Dominatrix and Jennifer (whom I have decided to call Sergeant Pepper), were walking in the opposite direction, telling me that Bianca was looking for me. Sorry. The sectional was at 12:00.

I need to write numbers down more clearly...

Anyways, not to toot my own horn, but that's what we basically did in the practice room. No references to cheese cutting. We did not go over the performance pieces, but rather went over the stuff for Concert Band. So it was more of a sectional than a rehearsal...

After an hour or less, we got kicked out by that blonde dude, also a clarinetist, who was very prissy... Apparently we were cutting into his rehearsal time too.

Clarinetists are weird...

So I lifted all of my stuff and moved it across the hall to the piano lab. Spent an hour on the keyboard, cranking out the performance piece for Piano, due Monday. Saw Darius, Bianca, and other music majors in between being all frantic and whatnot during my break. Ended up showing off my "awesome" nonexistent drum set skills. Then moved into a practice room with an acoustic piano to practice my fortes and pianos, as well as some choir music.

By then it was 4, waiting for 5 for the Phi Theta Kappa meeting.

I got a text sometime during my practice from BLAH, wanting me to help her escape from her history class. So, I thought I go pay her a "visit." I walked to Davie's Hall and searched in the classrooms to see which one she was in, then texted "I see you..." to her phone, prompting a confused WTH face and a looking toward the door glance, which lead to the OMG you-frikken-scared-me-that-was-hilarious reaction. XD

It's the small moments.

The PTK meeting started. Followed the agenda. Tossed some volunteer project ideas around. Ended up hurting the feelings of someone from the radical Christian club on campus. The usual.

Then at the end, I looked at the chalkboard at the other end of the room and saw a little distinct drawing that I recognized:

Made me happy. Made me miss Taka. Then made that moment just sad.

So to my question: So why am I here?
My answer: NO idea.

What-To-Do-On-Fridays-So-That-I-Don't-Die To Do List

  1. Pick up my sketchbook and start drawing again.
  2. Come up with random art projects.
  3. Bother Kaylah in Santa Cruz.
  4. Vandalize public property.
  5. Practice piano.
  6. Take up knitting.
  7. Come up with a cosplay costume for Fanime.

Toodles.

Webcams, or, Italian Class

Blog No. 36: Webcams, or Italian Class

I usually write when my day is done, but I have some time, especially since there was no Italian today... XD

Link is giving Piper a back massage, and Taka is prolly stumbling online. King left me his computer so that it can be on while it downloads more homoerotic porn, or some anime thing... I have to stay here in the cafe to wait until biology at 6.

Currently listening the parody song "I Kissed Your Mom" for some reason.

Piper brought Lomo for me today, the teddy bear. If you don't know the story, we have joint custody of the teddy bear and we are supposed to add something to it before we pass it along. It's kinda like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but better.

Anyways, Piper whipped out her awesome webcam today and we tried to get it to work on MSN Messenger with Taka's computer. Unfortunately that did not work for some unknown reason. So we ended up just taking a bunch of pictures with it, most of them of me and Taka:

OH DANG.

Two places... AT ONCE???

Cue dramatic anime music sequence

What-to-Prepare-for-When-Zombies-Take-Over-the-World To Do List:
  1. Find a weapons store to hijack. Knives and such DO NOT work. The biggest gun isn't always the best. Remember to get the ammo, even if it does cost too much.
  2. Avoid large places, like a Super WalMart, because zombies will have the upper hand.
  3. Train a puppy. It will be the only one you have left that isn't a zombie. Plus, it will grow to a carniverous beast that will also ward off zombie attacks. Lap dogs will be useless in the new world.
  4. Stock up on moist towlettes and duct tape. The towlettes for the mass quantities of blood that will explode on your person. Duct tape for various reasons, (you wouldn't think of it, but zombies are such whiners, so it'll be good to put a strip of duct tape over their mouths).
  5. Have some salt handy. Generic food will be poisonous. Zombie skin, though very tough, will be a good source of protein, potassium, and vitamin B12.
  6. Find a rooftop that is liveable on. Zombies never look up, and they are afraid of heights.
  7. Portable DVD player and the Gilmore Girls seasons 1-7. It will be boring to only talk to your dog, and the Gilmore Girls never get old. Plus, you'll have the time to look up all the references they make in a single episode.
  8. A giant hamster wheel, to act as a manual means of a power source. The popular pet for zombies are the rabid, man-sized hamster, so you don't have to make one.
  9. Full body condoms. Trust me. You will be tempted.
  10. A giant mirror. You wouldn't think of this either, but zombies are either really curious or really narcisstic. Either way, it'll be a good distraction for when multiple zombies converge.
  11. Travel brocures/maps. You can't stay in one place for long, the zombies will get suspicious of your actions. Plus, once all the humans are gone, it'll be good to see the world without any annoying tourists about.
That knocked out a good hour or so...

Have fun!

Weird Science

Blog No. 35: Weird Science

Robert Downey Jr. really looked like a girl when he was young... Though his personality hasn't changed much...

Anyways, today was meh. Chemistry is a bore, as always. Really hate Chemistry.

Then I had to go to Piano, ALONE I might add, seeing as Piper had gotten "sick" and everything. Geez... /sarcasm

After Piano, Phillip wanted to play tennis super badly. So him, Susan Surrandon, Gonad, and I walked to Phillip's car, (at the END of the parking lot), to get some tennis rackets. He found out that his car died. Lights were turned on all that time, completely depleting his battery. Totally weird. Then walked to the tennis courts, a galaxy away in the opposite direction from Phillips car. Here's a diagram:

SO far. Yes, Saturn has a beauty mark.

Tennis was fun. Of course Phillip got a little bit too competitive for his own good, and Gonad was certainly no help. Most of the time it was just Susan Surrandon and me Vs. Phillip, whilst Gonad got nachos. I wasn't too bad, I guess. But it was definitely clear that Phillip was leagues better than I was, so I didn't worry about making it in too much.

Then Concert Band. Bianca, the blonde clarinetist, came up and asked about me being part of the "Clarinet Choir" which is basically just a group of clarinetists performing because they can. Seeing as I'm going to be at school Friday, I thought I might as well swing by and check out the rehearsal. But, again, not too sure about it, because of (1) her and (2) lack of time. It would mean that I have to stay late for yet another concert in the concert series...

I should learn to just say no...

Seeing as I'm back in the Blog War, might as well do some list.

What-I-Should-Do-to-be-More-Confident To Do List:

  1. Say "No" more often.
  2. Talk LOUDER.
  3. Stand up with both feet on the ground.
  4. Be more awake.
  5. Try not to scare people.

Nightskies folks!
